Allington waste management facility takes non-hazardous waste from local households and business in Kent for recycling and to generate electricity.
TTM provided the traffic management system, to allow refuge collection vehicles to be queued and sent into the waste tipping hall to unload waste.
From the site entrance weighbridge two lanes are controlled with traffic signals and a over head gantry, directing vehicles into two holding lanes. As space becomes available in the main tipping hall vehicles are sent from the holding lanes under traffic signal control, the tipping hall entry & exit shutter doors open & close automatically, giving a steady flow of vehicles on and off the power station/recycling site.
A console in the weighbridge allows staff to monitor the traffic flow and also allows for manual over ride of the system if required. |
